The detox decision

Thank you to hose who weighed in on detox decision 2012!  I found this decision to be personally more fascinating than who will be facing off against Obama in November.

The decision is to detox!

Everyone I talked to, even A, was very supportive of this decision.  Much like lent, a detox is a time of self-evaluation, a time of healing, and growth.  These are all things that I would like to explore in the next few months.  I am tentatively scheduling day one for April 1.  Why so far in advance, you ask?

Well, the truth is that I'm a type-A, super controlling, has to plan everything to the "nth degree" kinda gal.  I like having a plan.  I like executing the plan.  I like having contingencies.  And I don't like deviations.

What all of that means, is that I want to spend the next few weeks poring over cookbooks and Pinterest trying to find the best way to do a gluten free, caffeine free, alcohol free, low soy vegan diet.  Wow, put that way, it sound pretty crappy, huh?  Where's the fun?

Who wants to help me come up with a fun name for my detox?

  1. Make sure you take a vitamin every day so you can supplement anything not in your diet :)
You'll probably feel so good it'll make up for cutting out all that stuff!

  2. Go you! I've been vegetarian for about 8 years and love it. I've also done some various cleansing and detoxing along the way. It *is* a big change and you'll have your moments of *this totally sucks*...but, in the end, you'll be so glad you did it. You'll come away with some newly formed habits that you want to keep, and an expanded recipe box.

    Good luck :)
