When I was at IU, I felt like Superwoman. My senior year I was Vice President of my sorority, I worked a full time job, took REALLY HARD classes like Organic Chemistry Lab and Biochemistry, got good grades, and still amanged to have some semblance of a social life (my sisters might argue that last point, but I did manage to get out of my hole every now and then).

I honestly couldn't tell you now how I did it, except that I know I didn't sleep much. I was way overweight. The trade-off for doing it all was less than optimal health.
For some reason I thought it would be easy to make this all fit together again. I had the expectation that because these were courses at a Community College, and because I would only be a part time student, that everything would be easy-peasy. Mmmmm, not so much. It has been a struggle. A struggle made worse by my expectations.
I'm not willing to sacrifice my health like that anymore. I like sleep and lookin' good too much to give them up again. Buh-bye expectations. I won't miss you, don't worry.
School, work, and a relationship are all very tough to manage alone, so having all 3 is a huge balancing act. I had guilt about leaving my kids for work, then turning around and leaving them to workout, so I didn't take much care of myself for the longest time. I have to confess... I now appreciate it when people say, "Wow, a job, a family, and good health, how do you do it?" You're going to do great! And feel great!
