"Gratitude turns what we have into enough." I have no idea who said this, but it's true. Every time I think I need more, I have to remind myself of everything I already have, and how blessed I am. My cup runneth over, so to speak :).
I have a safe, affordable place to live.
I have food in my fridge.
I have a cat who serves as a back-up alarm clock.
I have a steady paycheck.
I am mostly healthy.
I have transportation.
I am able to freely express myself.
I have supportive people around me that believe in me.
I know it's a generic list this week. Usually I like to get specific, but lately I feel like these are the things I take for granted. It is easy to forget that there are a lot of people who can only claim one or two of these things for themselves, and look how many I am able to claim.
On a side note, this weekend is looking like it has the makings of being incredible! Hope your plans are going to come together for some great times too!
I just read a study that said people who express gratitude for what they have at least once a week are overall much healthier.
ReplyDeleteGood for you for taking the time to be grateful!
Also, I'm from Colorado too :)
