Growing in love

I don't know how many of you remember, but my theme for my 27th year is growing in love.  For the last several months, I have set goals to help me achieve that end.  January in loving myself.  February in showing greater love to Ammon.  And March in showing myself that I am stronger than I think physically.

So far, I have accomplished my goal by getting in at least 20 minutes of exercise 4 days in a row.  I had no idea coming into this month how challenging this would be, how out of shape I have become.  Prior to this attempt, I could still manage to run a 12 minute mile.  However, right this moment, even that is too much.  But it's alright.  It is a starting point, and with any luck, I will never be in this particular situation again.

Yesterday's mileage.  I hope in time to show you the times and how much they improve.

What are you doing to grow this month?  What goals have you set for yourself?

  2. You and your amazing goals. My goal for this month is to be patient. Zac may have emailed me yesterday (within 2 hours of arriving in NYC) to ask for his passport so he could leave the country early next week. I kid you not...my patience reserves will be gone by March 31, but I will use every last bit of them!

  4. Good for you! Setting goals like this is such a great idea.

Also, the title of your post reminds me of a line from The First Wives Club - "Grow from love...screw the world."

    I can't be serious ever. I'm sorry.

  5. I'm doing P90X.
    and I hate it.

but I guess I'm trying to prove that I'm stronger than I (and Tony Horton) believe.
also, I'm kind of hopping on the last train to #operationbikini and hoping to look decent in a swim suit this summer.

  6. I'm terrible at setting goals, except with WW - and even that's getting a little dicey lately. I did set a small goal this week to do my exercise DVD 2 times. And I did. I even got 1/2 way through it yesterday before the dog decide to vomit up the entire contents of her stomach, right in front of me. =(

    I'm proud of you!

  7. My goal never changes: find a job. It's so frustrating, I've been searching for almost a year and nothing. Fingers are always crossed.

  9. this is a great goal to have! at first, 20 minutes seems SO easy to do, but honestly, in this weather, after a long day at work? it's a challenge!

  10. I haven't exercised since school re-started. And I'm okay with that. I feel that with everything else on my plate, I need to make time for a good night's sleep. So that means not waking up at 4:30am to work out. It means going to sleep as soon as I'm done with class and finished homework and going to sleep by 11pm. Tat extra hour in the morning of sleep helps...not tons, but enough.

So after that novel of a comment, um...I guess this month, I'm focusing on sleep and keeping up?

    Love ya friend!
