So, that was interesting

Before we even start talking about fun random stuff, I have to remind you about the web party that Michelle and I are hosting on Friday starting at 7:30pm EST.  Click here for more details, and JOIN US on Friday!

This is one of those, "so, that just happened..." kinds of posts.  Mostly because we had a highly entertaining Sunday.

Last Sunday was the third week of trying out the same church.  I liked it right off the bat, but Ammon felt like we needed to date the church for a little bit, and I thought that was prudent.  Since we are hoping that the church minister can marry us, and that it's a place we can feel welcomed and comfortable, it was important that we find a place we were 100% on board with.

3 things happened on Sunday at church that made us so stinkin' happy.  That's a lot of things in a one hour time span.

1.  Flash mob.  No joke.  Flash mob in church.  My phone is on the fritz still, so no video proof.  You'll have to trust me.  But you'll never believe the song choice.  It was beyond great.

2.  We were talking about finding joy, finding hope, finding love, and resilience.  The associate minister asked 2 high school students to share how they find strength in hard times.  I was moved by what they had to say, and I was reminded of how difficult things are when you are a teenager.  Ammon and I were still talking about it afterward, and remembering what it felt like to be 15, 16, 17... If you aren't shuddering right now, I'm pretty sure it's because you aren't there yet.  That stuff was hard.

3.  The last song of the service was "Lean on Me".  It was so good.  Everyone got into it, and they were swaying, and grooving.  Ammon even got into it!

It didn't surprise me when at the end of the service, Ammon told me he wanted to go steady with this church.  That's right, we signed up for permanent name tags.  We're wearing their pin, if you will ;-)

I never would have imagined that Ammon would be dating again.  How wrong I was.

On the wedding blog today, we're talking about the rules of wedding planning.  Check it out!

  4. Awesome! I'm so happy the church is working out for you! And I can't make the party :( We signed up for a 5k Friday night. And I'm so not ready for it. I've been eating EVERYTHING under the sun. I even have some canker sores (sorry TMI) from all the junk.

  5. I'm so glad you found a church you both like! While that description frightens the pants off this old-school Episcopalian, I'm happy if you're happy.

I love a flash mob, but at church? yikes. =)

  8. Well you got to first base with the church. Most 13 years only pray for that with a girl at the roller rink.
