For 90 days [His and hers]

Happy Wednesday, that feels like Tuesday.  Every 3 day holiday weekend ever makes me feel like singing the Time Warp song from Rocky Horror picture show.  So confusing.

Today's Blogtember topic:  If you could take 3 months off from your real life and do anything in the world, what would it be and why?

Ammon and I actually disagree on this particular subject, so I felt like it was necessary to give both of our perspectives on the matter.  What is more funny is the fact that we each knew what the other would do instantly, even though we had to each take a good amount of time to decide what we would do.  I think that this definitively proves that we know each others' minds far better than we know our own.

Ammon would:

Travel Europe.  He is a city slicker, and all of that culture, food, and history really gets his juices going.  Ammon likes to learn stuff, and so a trip to Europe would be full of learning and growing.  I'm sure that places like the Black Forest Region of Germany, with their wood carving, would be of especial interest.

I would spend the trip eating, drinking beer and wine, and buying every cookbook I could get my hands on.

I would:

Hike the Appalachian Trail.  Or at least a good chunk of it, since it takes about 6 months, on average, to hike from start to finish.  I blame Amy for this, and her enthusiasm for long distance hiking.  It's seriously contagious, and while I am a backpacking virgin, I do hope to someday tackle this momentous milestone on my bucket list.  And how could I not?  Check out some of Amy's pictures and descriptions of trail life, any of them from her hiking days, and I think you will start to feel the itch too (don't worry, she says that Gold Bond medicated powder does great things towards combating the itch, and hiker stench).

What would you do with 90 days off from your reality?

  1. Although the hiking sounds like fun... I think I'd opt out with your hubby on his choice. I like my showers & indoor plumbing... lol. But both are very good choices! Think if you got the chance you guys would do each others with the other?

  3. I'll admit, I would prefer to travel through Europe than hike, but hiking the Appalachian Trail would be amazing too!! I actually grew up in Hinsdale, MA a tiny town in the Berkshire Mountains, and lived just down the road from part of the Appalachian Trail. I remember spending a lot of time in Dalton, MA watching the hikers travel through.
