In a dreamworld

Did you all entirely forget about me the last 2 weeks or so?  Contrary to the evidence, I haven't forgotten about any of you.  I just have felt... boring lately.  My life has been work, eat, workout, sleep, repeat.  For the last forever.  There are only so many ways to make that sound interesting, positive, and cool before it starts to get utterly lame.

I do have some things to talk about, though.  Mostly I just want to talk about how I just finished another half marathon, and I got to do it with an amazing woman inside and out, Alyx.  I hope that all of you can find a friend in life who is as great as she is.  Seriously.  I wish we could see each other on a regular basis, because brief meeting in airports, texts, and short weekends together are not nearly enough.

I took a grand total of 3 photos over our weekend, and I just don't even care.  We were too busy having fun to take pictures.  We bought matching Bondi bands because they were so cool.  We played with her daughter, who is legitimately one of the cutest babies I've ever seen in my life.  We ate candy and pie and junk food like champions.  Oh yeah, and we both kicked ass and took names in our half marathon.  Can't forget that part.

I feel like I "should" now launch into a recap of our time together, or even start a race recap.  But really, I'm not ready to, because then it would feel even more like our weekend together was in the past, and put away for a while.  I'm still savoring those conversations in my head, the laughter, the hugs, and watching our husbands bond.  I'm living in a dreamworld right now where I am pretending that we can hang out together anytime we want, not just when we plan event weekends together 6 months in advance.

So this post is just going to be a picture and some fluff about how this weekend was exactly what I needed it to be, exactly when I needed it.  Hopefully, I will feel inspired to talk about the rest of it at some point in the future!

  2. This is precisely why I haven't recapped the weekend yet. Because that means it's over... and I can't just hop in my car and drive across town to see you. Or go hang out with you and eat tons of skittles. I'm so glad you guys were able to come out! That was, by far, the best weekend I've had in a long time. I'm ready to plan another!!! We'll let you know our tentative travel schedule as far as when we're going out to UT to see if there's a way we can swing by on our way back. And we can't forget our trip to the Black Hills, right?! ;)
